LWV US New Voting Standards
Again the national League is taking the lead on evolving voting standards that relate to election integrity. When you have time review the Voting Safeguarding report issued this week clarifying the immense local responsibility for administration of the election process. The report also discusses the League's stand on voter-verified paper trails and future considerations. We are all accountable to see that our vote counts in 2004.

Your Election Information Web Site
Visit washingtonvoter.org by LWV for No ads. No bias. Just info. Find ballot issues; election news; voting information; statewide and judicial races, Congress and the President; district representatives; candidate information; learning tools; great links; and FAQ. This is the public League at its best! Many voters turn to the League for nonpartisan and nonbiased information on elections. You may also see a few of the newly printed Make Democracy Work tattoos around town.
State Voter Service Information
Visit the Member Only section of lwvwa.org for new resources and guidelines for all Voter Service activities--voter registration, getting out the vote, and group activities. If you need the User Name and Password, use the email section of this blog (click on "profile" section) and the information will be emailed to you as a member. Jefferson County League is still learning the "ropes," and many resources are available like how to choose your candidates and issues, WashingtonVoter information, and how to do Voter Service for the nonpartisan League.
State Council 2004
Last weekend was the WA state League Council 2004 meeting in Ellensburg. Our Jefferson County new League unit (still a unit until completing a new more steps) received applause for new membership and activities. There is much to share from the state in future meetings. Those who saw a photo of our red, white and blue wigs and hats plus Statue of Liberty headgear worn at the Earth Day event and the Rhody Parade shared their enthusiasm. State board membership person Becky Cox would like to revisit us.
